Eco Friendly Chic Styles

Eco Friendly Chic Styles
From eco-friendly fashions to green jewelry, we’ve rounded up the most stylish Earth Day-approved finds out there.

Lemlem scarf & bracelet
Online gift boutique Indigo works with independent artisans to create handcrafted products under fair-trade conditions.
How happy were we to find one of our fave accessories labels, Lemlem by Liya Kebede, created to support the economic independence of artisans in the actress-model’s native country, Ethiopia.
This striped wrap scarf with the line’s signature fluorescent accents is hand woven in 100% cotton with natural dyes. Incredibly versatile, the seasonless scarf also works as a travel wrap or beach sarong.
Bonus: It comes with a handcrafted chunky oak bracelet by Roost, made in India of sustainably harvested wood. An Earth Day gift for just about any fashionista on your list.

Kangol straw hat
We’re major fans of “made in America” products, and what a bonus when they’re also sustainable and stylish. While we’ve owned Kangol hats for years, many of us didn’t realize that the Brit company has a line created on this side of the pond that includes several eco-friendly styles.
We’re topping off our spring and summer weekends with this classic fedora in of-the-moment pastel blue that’s handcrafted of high-quality natural straw made from sisal for added durability and dyed with all-natural organic pigments.

Toms vegan shoes
Best known for its philanthropic “one to one” program, TOMS donates a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair purchased.
But have you checked out the brand’s super-stylish line of vegan shoes made with absolutely no animal materials or byproducts?
This summery watercolor-floral print pair is made of pesticide-free cotton, organic canvas and recycled post-consumer plastics. With all the standout patterns going on in fashion, these kicks are a fast and planet-friendly way to instantly liven up all the basics in the closet.

Eco swim by aqua green dress
This soft heathered jersey t-shirt dress doubles as a beach cover-up. Drawstring sides let you adjust how much, or how little, leg you show off, so you can go from modest to sexy in seconds.
The best part is that the fabric is made in the USA of one hundred percent recycled fibers. Beyond designing stylish, sustainable swimwear and cover-ups, Pennsylvania company Eco Swim also supports cleanups that remove thousands of pounds of trash from beaches and waterways.
In honor of Earth Day, the company is teaming up with Belk Department stores on April 21 for a cleanup in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

New balance sneaker
Get your kicks in an eco-conscious form with these cute, sustainable sneakers from New Balance’s newSKY line.
The material on the shoe’s upper is made of recycled plastic bottles--about eight twenty-ounce bottles are used to make each pair. And we support every effort to reduce the number of plastic bottles chucked into landfills each year, which currently tops 51 billion.
The super light-weight sneaks' hot-pink accents and baseball-inspired stitching are just right for making the morning commute that little bit more stylish. Need one more excuse to splurge?
New Balance is the only major athletic footwear brand still making shoes in America.

Stella Mccartney sunglasses
In the fashion world, designer Stella McCartney is pretty much the queen of eco style.
Her most recent, planet-friendly accessory launch for spring features sustainable sunglasses, made of over 50% natural and renewable resources.
These slightly retro, oversized and rounded cat-eye frames are one of our favorite sunglasses shapes to wear right now. The unique mix of opaque and translucent bio-plastic is derived from natural materials like castor oil seeds and cellulose.
We have our sights set on this pair in pretty pinkish and purply berry tones.

Camper wedge sandals
Wedges are spring’s “it” shoe, and we were ooohing and ahhhing over these cute sandals well before we knew that they are eco-friendly. How cool is the flash of neon orange trimming the heel?
Dubbed a clog-sandal hybrid, they’re made of vegetable-tanned leather and recycled materials.
Spanish footwear brand Camper has made it a mission to reduce waste and promote sustainability by introducing more styles each season that have an environmental twist, and we can’t wait to see what’s next, as they make some of the most fashionably green footwear around.

Yala tees and onesies
How perfect is this tee-and-onesie combo for a new mom and her babe?
Particularly since it’s made of a 95% organic bamboo fabric that's entirely chemical-free and feels absolutely luxurious: velvety soft and ultra-sleek.
Not to mention that the nautical striped boatneck style is a wardrobe essential, and this one comes in fresh, unexpected color combinations like pink-and-white or taupe-and black.
We love that there’s a toddler line, too, so all the little ones can follow in Mommy’s green footsteps.

Get it now: Yala 'Bamboo Dreams Kai' tee, $58 at yaladesigns.com, and short-sleeve onesie, $28 at yaladesigns.com
